Design and Usage
This external HDD has a thickness of 9.6mm, making it one of the thinnest external HDDs in the market today. It comes in either Gold or Platinum, and has an external casing that features a golf ball-like texture, giving it a unique look. Overall, it’s incredibly portable and fits easily in the pocket of blazers and even that of your pants.
It runs on the USB 3.0 interface, so there’s no need to worry about speed. Apart from that, you’ll also be getting the Seagate Dashboard software, which lets you easily backup data from local drives, mobile devices, and even social media. Furthermore, it comes with 200GB storage on Microsoft OneDrive, for two years.
Performance
To test this drive, we timed how long it would take to transfer about 2GB worth of files from a PC to the drive via a USB 3.0 port. The transfer took just over minute, proving that the drive in incredibly fast. We also found that the bundled Seagate Dashboard software has a friendly interface, so even those who have never performed a backup before, will be able to do so.
Conclusion
This external HDD not only looks good, it performs just as well. It’s incredibly portable and will definitely appeal to executives who are always on the go, as well as college and university students.
