To those of you who are unfamiliar with Influencer Asia, it is a biennial award show that brings together the region’s top media influencers to honour their achievements. This year’s nominees were announced earlier today at Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur where they were selected from the 7 participating regions – Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and South Korea.
Brought to you by Gushcloud and Yellow Digital Marketing Group, the awards show aims to build respect and legitimacy in the Social Media influence industry.
15 nominees were selected for 9 different categories for each country and they include Beauty, Parenting, Fashion, Lifestyle, Food, Health & Fitness, YouTube, YouTube Personality and Breakout Influencer.
Out of the 15, the top 4 nominees were chosen. The Influence Asia Council, a judging panel for choosing the nominees, vary of 40 individuals across the 7 regions.
The theme for this year is “For the Future”, said Althea Lim, Executive Producer of Influencer Asia 2017. The purpose of such a ceremony is to provide a celebratory platform for Content Creators to be recognized for all their hard work and the positive impacts they have made, especially among the younger generation.
The brand hopes that its promise, “Creating Tomorrow’s Positive Influence”, will pave the way for stronger and more positive content in the future.
The Influence Asia 2017 official awards show will be streaming live on Saturday, the 8th of April at Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) where each country’s top influencer will be crowed Influencer of the Year.
