Ismail Sabri was sworn in as Malaysia’s ninth Prime Minister on Saturday (21 August) in front of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

He vowed to carry out his responsibilities as Prime Minister, and his first task will be to take command of the country’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Malay Mail, the new Prime Minister has expressed confidence about the country’s future in the fight against the pandemic.

Because of the success of the country’s vaccination programme, Malaysians will soon be able to return to their hometowns to visit their parents, celebrate holidays, and even travel domestically again.

Furthermore, children may soon enjoy going out and participating in recreational activities, as well as returning to school.

These prospects are not “just an empty dream,” because the government has previously successfully reduced the number of cases.

After achieving 90% adult herd immunity, daily cases in Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan have dropped to a single digit for seven days in a row. To achieve that, Ismail Sabri has urged all Malaysians who have yet to register to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to do so.

On top of that, states in Phase 1 of the NRP have opened businesses, allowing the nation to dine in. Though it’s not safe, especially with the current Delta variants and more, if you’re thinking about dining in, make sure you’re fully vaccinated with both doses and play your role as a responsible citizen by protecting those around you as well.
