Malaysia reported 190 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 428. Although the situation in the country is still manageable, Malaysia has activated its pandemic preparedness plan with a rapid RT-PCR (reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction) test on patients and contacts developed, used and distributed to several government hospitals and medical laboratories while stricter management protocols have been introduced.
