As a brand that holds nature and community at the heart of its vision, Timberland recognizes the role it plays as an industry leader in social responsibility. To communicate this message, Timberland has created a comic to highlight the bold steps it has taken in under its Nature Needs Heroes initiative: since 2001, Timberland has planted over 9.6 million trees worldwide, reused 310 million plastic water bottles in its footwear, and is well on its way to satisfying its goal to include at least one component of recycled, organic or renewable material in 100% of its footwear products by 2020.
To this end, Timberland unveils the latest release of its Nature Needs Heroes Collection for Spring/Summer 2019. This capsule is centred on two key headlines from the brand’s archives that have been reimagined for the youth culture of today and encompasses footwear, apparel, and accessories constructed using ReBOTL fabric, recycled nylon and organic cotton.
The rugged Ripcord Bungee boot is reinvented this season with bold new colourways and eye-catching branding. Featuring a premium suede leather upper from an LWG Silver-rated tannery and treated with Defender Repellent Systems, the Ripcord Bungee ensures lasting comfort through slip-on styling and an EVA footbed, while the revolutionary AEROCORE ENERGY SYSTEM with a rubber lug outsole provides high energy return and solid all-terrain grip to help you travel further, faster.
Among the apparel, offerings is the OWL’s Head ‘Do Good’ bomber jacket with ripstop ReBOTL fabric made from recycled PET bottles, and the Statement Tee in heavyweight 100% organic cotton jersey that reminds its wearer to ‘Leave Only Footprints’.
Bringing a deep awareness of sustainability to what we wear, the Nature Needs Heroes collection emphasizes the responsibility of consumers and brands to make mindful choices that better the planet to the benefit of all.
Nature Needs Heroes collection is available at all Timberland stores on 4th April onwards. For more information on Timberland, visit www.timberland.com.my, or follow our adventures on Instagram and Facebook @TimberlandMY.
