Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, recorded an unprecedented sell-out of the all-new Honor 9 Lite during the two waves of flash sales that were launched at 9.00am and 3.00pm today. During the first wave at 9.00am, a total of 500 Honor 9 Lite units were snapped up in just 5 minutes, while the second wave saw a total of 1,000 units sell out shortly after launch. This marks the successful launch of Honor’s first quad-camera smartphone, following Honor’s appointment of Shopee as its exclusive e-commerce partner recently.
“The demand of the Honor 9 Lite has far exceeded our expectations. This proves that the phone has hit the sweet spot among the tech-savvy Malaysian consumers who demand for both functional and practical elements when purchasing smartphones. In order not to disappoint the Honor fans amidst the overwhelming demand, I am glad to say that we have managed to secure a 2nd batch of Honor 9 Lite to go on Shocking Sale again on Wednesday, 14 March 2018,” said Ian Ho, Shopee’s Regional Managing Director.
Those who missed out on today’s flash sales can look forward to the next wave of flash sale of the honor 9 Lite happening next Wednesday (14 March) at 9.00am, where the honor 9 Lite will be up for grabs at a discounted price of RM699 – a huge markdown from its recommended retail price of RM749.
In conjunction with the sale of the Honor 9 Lite, Shopee will be running a selfie contest on Instagram from 12 to 31 March. To participate, Shopee customers will have to simply upload a selfie with their BFF, detailing why their BFF is beautiful while tagging @shopee_my and #ShopeeXHonor. Two lucky winners will win themselves and their BFFs a new Honor 9 Lite. Ten consolation prize winners will receive 10,000 Shopee coins each.
Additionally, Shopee users will also be able to enjoy 10% cashback from Bundle Deals which will take place on 20 and 27 March. Shopee has also partnered with brands to provide additional perks to users. On 20 March, TNT Co will be giving out a FREE shirt worth RM159 for the first 400 users to purchase an honor 9 Lite on Shopee; while on 27 March, Maybelline New York, a global leader in makeup, will be giving out a selfie-worthy makeup set worth RM50 for the first 150 users to purchase an honor 9 Lite.
