The legendary Sir Elton John has announced that his next tour would be his last as he is deciding to spend more time with his family.
In the span of the next 3 years, with over 300 dates being planned out, this would be Sir Elton John’s last key performances live.
“I always thought I was going to be like Ray Charles, BB King – on the road forever,” he said.
“My priorities have changed. We had children and it changed our lives. That doesn’t mean to say I’m not going to be creative. But I’m not going to travel.”
Sir Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road kicks off this September in the US, months after he ends his residency in Las Vegas. The legend has stated that he came to his decision after realizing he needs to spend more time at home with his husband, David Furnish.
Sir Elton John has sold more than 300 million records throughout his career and is one of the world’s most in-demand live performers. Last year, he had to cancel nine shows in Las Vegas and California because of a bacterial infection contracted during his South American tour.
